What I Bought at Sephora VIB Sale – Part 1

This year, Sephora has surprised everyone with a sale just before labor day weekend rather than in November like it has been in the past few years.

There is a Sephora right downstairs of my office so I used to shop there quite a bit (before work, after work, or even lunch break :D) but now I am trying to only stock up whenever there is a sale going on. So here is the list of makeup/skincare/hair products I have re-purchased and decided to try out and I would love to share them with you. This is part 1 – makeup products and tools I have always loved and repurchased with this sale opportunity. Part 2 will be the products I have purchased and my first impressions or reviews.

Things I have loved and repurchased:

TF eyeliner

I tried this eyeliner for the first time when I was still in grad school after watching so many Tati’s Youtube videos. Does it cost an arm and a leg for an eyeliner? Yes. It is from Tom Ford. But let me just tell you, this eyeliner is the best liquid eyeliner I have ever used in my life.

I used to love Kat Von D’s liquid eyeliner but in comparison to the TF one, I found the KVD eyeliner dries up faster (I would probably need to purchase a new one after ~3 months or so when I had my old one for like close to 2 years and still works – I know, I should have got rid of it earlier for sanitary reasons LOL). This Tom Ford liquid eyeliner has two sides, one has a finer, smaller and longer tip which is perfect if you are going for some natural eyeliner look. And the other side is a bit shorter and it is easier to control (in my opinion). The color is pure black and it stays on forever (a couple of times I fell asleep while still wearing makeup and when I woke up my eyeliner did not move at all!)

Well I guess in conclusion, if you want to try a liquid eyeliner that is, I guess perfect except for its price point (but hey, you get what you paid for), look no further 😛

GIVENCHY eyebrow gel

This is probably my third time repurchasing this clear brow gel – it is my holy grail. There is nothing else left to say about this product – it is easy to apply, stays on forever, light-wearing (does not have weird color or residue on your brows) and the packaging is great (you can also see how much product you have left).

Cleansing water

When I have eyelash extensions, I try to stay away from oil-based makeup remover. After years of trying out different makeup remover for my skin type, I found myself always ended up going back to this makeup remover from Koh Gen Do. It is super refreshing but it does remove all of the makeup. It does not dry out my skin nor it leaves a weird texture film. With this sale, I purchased the largest size (16.23oz/480ml) available online.

PS. I really enjoy their cleansing spa water cloths as well – I always have a pack (10 cloths per pack) in my gym bag. See link to the cleansing spa water cloths below.

BB set

If you have not tried beauty blender, or at least some sort of sponge, please do! It will change your foundation game forever!

For drugstore options I really liked the Real Technique’s orange sponges – they work well but I do find myself having to replace them more often than beauty blenders.

I really enjoy this set even though it is not particularly cheaper (the normal price of BB is $20) but I think the packaging is adorable and super travel-friendly.

Tatcha dewy mist

This is the fourth bottle I have purchased since I started buying this mist in 2017. I have combination skin but sometimes, especially in winter when I am feeling really dry, or when I am flying and it is super dry on airplanes, or when I am going for a glowy, dewy makeup look, I always love to spray this skin mist. The mist is so fine and it feels extremely nice. It does not make you look greasy at all just a natural, healthy glow. I don’t really use this as a setting spray but it is something extra I would like to add from time to time. Highly recommend (especially if you have dry skin!).

Glamglow purple firming mask

I have used some samples of this mask and tried at friend’s place before and I absolutely loved it. It is very pricey for mask but I think it is worth it. It is very easy to spread and apply. After a while (30 – 40 min) dries to this metallic silver mask and you can just peel it off. When I first used it I felt a bit tingly but nothing serious (However, if you have sensitive skin, maybe try out a sample first before splurging!). I love using this mask whenever I feel puffy, or I want a clearer, brighter skin before I go out. Highly recommend!

So here is the list of products I have repurchased from the Sephora sale this year. Did you purchase anything from Sephora from this sale? Is there any products on your wishlist? Leave a comment below I would love to hear what you purchased and what you thought of it!

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you next time! ❤

Xoxo,

Rae
